Senior Finance Business Manager – Houston – USA

Job Overview

Summary of Key Accountabilities

  • Lead credit team to calculate, monitor and maintain appropriate customer credit limits within the region
  • Lead cash application function of OTC that is performed by CEVA’s third part provider
  • Lead unapplied cash (UAC) management, monitoring and resolution
  • Lead customer credit note process, monitor and report
  • Support cash collection efforts to derive and maintain adequate customer overdue balances
  • Support monitoring and compliance with corporate securitization program
  • Support integration efforts of acquired companies
  • Support system implementation projects
  • Support efforts to enhance the customer onboarding process
  • Support internal and external audit efforts
  • Provide periodic AR forecasts and variance explanations to actuals
  • Provide cash flow receipts forecasts estimates to the cash management team
  • Assist in the annual budget process
  • Develop and implement OTC process and efficiency enhancements
  • Train and develop junior team members
  • Partner with IT and operations to enhance invoice preparation and delivery
  • Monitor, report and assist with billing dispute resolution
  • Lead periodic meetings with management to review OTC performance, as necessary
  • Serve as OTC team leader in the absence of principal
  • Other duties as requested by superiors

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline required,
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • 10+ years of credit, collections, and billing experience
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in large, multinational, matrix organizations
  • 5+ years of people management experience
  • Experience in Transportation/Logistics/Supply Chain desired
  • CPA, CA or CMA preferred

  • Technical “accounting issue” assertiveness, negotiation skills, conflict management skills, systems knowledge, managerial decision making and problem solving skills
  • Ability to articulate issues, present “pros and cons” and provide solutions to finance and field management
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, and Outlook and industry-related software
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills with a hands-on business approach – Commercial acumen and a willingness to take decisions
  • Impeccable people management skills with experience in building teams and succession planning
