Responsibilities
Export Documentation and Compliance Oversee and manage the preparation and verification of export-related documents, including invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and customs declarations. Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and customer specifications.
Shipment Coordination and Execution Coordinate with internal departments, freight forwarders, and carriers to schedule and track shipments. Ensure the timely and efficient execution of export orders, including arranging transportation, cargo consolidation, and negotiating freight rates.
Customs Clearance Oversee the customs clearance process, collaborating with customs brokers to ensure accurate and timely submission of documentation. Stay up-to-date with changes in customs regulations and provide guidance to the team to ensure compliance.
Team Leadership and Training Lead and supervise a team of export clerks, providing guidance, training, and support. Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure the team meets performance targets and maintains a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
Customer Relationship Management Act as a primary point of contact for key customers, addressing their inquiries, providing updates on shipment status, and resolving any issues or concerns. Foster strong relationships with customers and provide exceptional customer service.
Process Improvement Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements in export operations. Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to enhance productivity and quality.
Reporting and Analysis Generate regular reports on export activities, including shipment volumes, performance metrics, and customer satisfaction. Analyze data to identify trends, identify areas for improvement, and make strategic recommendations.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or a related field. Additional certifications in international trade or logistics are a plus.
Minimum of [X] years of experience in export logistics, with a strong understanding of export documentation, regulations, and customs procedures.
Proven leadership experience, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
