Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sales Manager with a proven track record in the freight industry to join our team.

As a Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales and business development efforts in the specified trade lanes, focusing on air and
ocean freight, as well as project cargo. Ideally, the candidate will have established contacts with direct customers in Germany, particularly within the energy sector.


  • Business Development: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities, with a focus on generating revenue and bringing new clients on board.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to penetrate the specified trade lanes.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with direct customers in Germany, leveraging existing contacts and expanding the customer base.
  • Understand customer requirements and provide tailored solutions to meet their transportation needs.
  • Trade Lane Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of the specified trade lanes, including knowledge of market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay updated with industry developments and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Sales Negotiation: Conduct negotiations with customers to secure favorable terms and pricing agreements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient and cost-effective service delivery while maintaining profitability.
  • Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports to the management team, highlighting sales performance, market trends, and opportunities.
  • Track and analyze key sales metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams such as operations, customer service, and pricing to ensure seamless execution of sales contracts and exceptional customer satisfaction.


  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales and business development within the freight industry.
  • Proven track record of success in selling air and ocean freight services, as well as project cargo.
  • Established network of direct customer contacts in Germany, preferably within the energy sector.
  • Strong knowledge of the specified trade lanes (USA & Canada, South America, Indian Subcontinent, China), including market dynamics and customer requirements.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.
  • Results-driven with a focus on achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze market trends, identify opportunities, and propose effective solutions.
  • Proficiency in relevant sales and CRM software.
