Road Logistics Supervisor – Laredo – USA

Job Overview

Your role

The Road Logistics Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations of the Overland Department personnel. The incumbent will develop, document and maintain Overland Department procedures as well as coordinate transportation resources and monitor carrier performance metrics.

Your responsibilities

  • Supervise the scheduling of incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure efficient resources utilization and coordinate transportation resources in achievement of customer service goals.
  • Direct the daily operations of the Exports Overland Department personnel, supervise border crossing status on the 2nd shift with the night dispatcher and follow up with customers to resolve inquires.
  • Prepare and assemble all documents as necessary for exports of the following customer: A Raymond, Axis, Nifco, Hella for BMW (AES Filing only), Boysen US for BMW (AES Filing only) and Allnex (AES Filing only).
  • Research and resolve operational problems, employee may also have additional responsibilities in accordance with supporting a specific department(s)/division(s) and/or be tasked with specific, individualized assignments.
  • Customer Service Responsibilities include maintaining customer contact throughout the process and choosing the proper routing appropriate to the customer’s needs, negotiate cost effective rates with service providers to ensure maximum profitability and immediately report problems, operation disputes or discrepancies to manager, Operation manager or branch manager.
  • Resolve Accounting Tickets or Disputes if corresponding to the accounts handled by her, include Missed Billing, NO Record of Invoices, etc. Perform Billing Activities for the following customers: Toyota de Mexico (Weekly Billing), Conmet de Mexico (Weekly Billing) and A Raymond (Daily – From ACON).

Your skills & experiences

  • The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years’ work experience in as a Supervisor in freight forwarding; solid knowledge of exports road logistics.
  • Solid knowledge of domestic and international geography including countries, major cities and ocean ports along with basic knowledge of U.S. Regulatory Laws.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written are required. Ability to delegate and multitask is a must and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Solid knowledge of domestic and international geography including countries, major cities and ocean ports along with basic knowledge of U.S. Regulatory Laws.
  • Ability to supervise, manage and train the Ocean Import Team of agents
  • Strong PC skills.
