Regional Air Import Gateway Manager – Torrance – USA

Key Responsibilities

• Creation, evaluation and optimization of the workflow processes for the Air Import Gateway Department and its responsibilities
• Identifies training needs & opportunities  to develop a highly skilled functional department
• Establishment of department structure according to local gateway market requirements (Staffing, Schedule & Coverage)
• Leading the Air Import Gateway to achieve the Global and Regional Key Performance Indicator (KPI)
• Establishes highest level of Data Quality within the DGF operating systems by educating & training according to Best Practices/SOP’s
• Subject Matter Expert of the required operating systems (CargoWise 1, LNC, FRP & FSI 3)
• Review, creation and optimization of the current internal cargo handling (Warehouse Transfers)
• Leading Carrier and Ground Handler relationship according to the DGF Preferred & Strategic Carrier Program (Commercial Carrier & Charter)
• Collaboration and supports the Vendor Management Program (Line Hauls)
• Carrier Performance Reviews
• Optimization of the Regional and HUB Line Haul program enabling market/pricing competitiveness (LTL, FTL, Line Haul Schedule)
• Relationship and collaborations with departments within the Region
• Communication and Alignment with overseas offices on Key Trade Lanes

Skills / Requirements

• 6+ years Freight Forwarding airfreight experience required
• 1+ years of supervisory or management experience strongly preferred
• Airfreight Import experience strongly preferred
• Competent using Cargowise software preferred
• BS/BA degree preferred
• Functionally competent with MS Office
• Strong, applicable problem solving /analytical skills and demonstrated Organizational Skills
• High Level Leadership Skills (communication, motivation and interpersonal skills)
• Demonstrates strong communication capabilities
