Job Description: As an Ocean Export Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating the international shipping process for our clients’ ocean export shipments. You will collaborate closely with customers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure efficient and timely delivery of cargo. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.
Responsibilities
Coordinate the end-to-end ocean export process, including booking, documentation, customs clearance, and shipment tracking.
Collaborate with clients to understand their shipping requirements, provide accurate quotations, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Liaise with carriers, truckers, and other service providers to arrange pick-up, delivery, and freight forwarding activities.
Prepare and verify shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and export declarations, to comply with international regulations and customer requirements.
Communicate and negotiate rates, transit times, and service levels with carriers and other vendors.
Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery, proactively identifying and resolving any issues or delays.
Update internal systems and maintain accurate records of shipments, invoices, and other relevant documentation.
Provide exceptional customer service by promptly addressing inquiries and resolving any shipping-related concerns.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to continuously improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
Proven experience (2-3 years) as an Ocean Export Coordinator or similar role within the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
Strong knowledge of ocean export processes, documentation, and regulations.
Familiarity with international trade terms (Incoterms) and customs procedures.
Proficiency in using shipping software and systems for booking, tracking, and documentation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, carriers, and internal teams.
Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Problem-solving skills to quickly address shipping issues and find efficient solutions.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating a proactive and collaborative approach.
Salary & Benefits
The salary range for this position is $55,000 – $65,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
