The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating the exportation of goods via ocean freight, ensuring compliance with international shipping regulations and delivering excellent customer service. Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage the export process for ocean freight shipments, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and export declarations, in compliance with international trade regulations.
Collaborate with clients, carriers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues that may arise during the export process.
Coordinate cargo bookings with ocean carriers and negotiate rates to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Provide accurate and timely shipment status updates to clients and internal teams, ensuring clear communication throughout the export process.
Ensure compliance with export regulations, including export license requirements, restricted party screening, and documentation accuracy.
Work closely with customs brokers to facilitate customs clearance and resolve any customs-related issues.
Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and take appropriate actions to address any delays or disruptions.
Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and requests professionally and promptly, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to ocean export operations.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred) OR equivalent work experience in the logistics industry.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in ocean export operations, preferably in a freight forwarding or logistics company.
Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations, including export compliance requirements.
Familiarity with ocean carriers, shipping lines, and freight rates.
Proficiency in using shipping software and systems for documentation and tracking purposes.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing shipping documentation.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, carriers, and internal teams.
Problem-solving and decision-making abilities to handle issues and provide effective solutions.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

The salary offered will be based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications, with a maximum salary of $70,000 per year.
