We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Ocean and Road Account Manager to join our team in Rotterdam.

As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing and developing key client accounts in the ocean and road transportation sectors.

Your primary focus will be on providing exceptional customer service, ensuring efficient freight operations, and driving business growth.


  • Account Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients in the ocean and road transportation industry.
  • Act as the primary point of contact and develop a deep understanding of their business needs and objectives.
  • Business Development: Identify opportunities to expand business with existing clients and actively pursue new business prospects.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop strategies for client acquisition and retention.
  • Freight Operations: Coordinate and oversee end-to-end freight operations, including bookings, documentation, customs clearance, and delivery.
  • Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely execution of all transportation activities.
  • Commercial Awareness: Monitor market trends, competitors, and industry developments to identify opportunities for business growth and improvement.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to internal teams on pricing, service offerings, and market positioning.
  • Customer Service: Serve as a dedicated point of contact for clients, addressing their inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Act proactively to anticipate customer needs and provide effective solutions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams including operations, logistics, and finance to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders to resolve any operational challenges and optimize overall efficiency.


  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in freight management, with a focus on ocean and road transportation.
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of the logistics and trading industry.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling documentation and operational processes.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a service-minded approach.
  • Proven track record in managing client accounts, driving business growth, and achieving sales targets.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and systems for freight management and customer relationship management
