Logistics Ops. Project Manager – North Charleston – USA

Job Overview


  • Coordinate all start-up operations, facility preparation, and software implementation, resulting in seamless transition.
  • Exceed distribution financial standards by evaluating key performance indicators (KPI) and the development of a standardize operation procedure.
  • Conduct assistance visits to other organizations to review their procedures and make recommendations on how to ensure compliance with establish guidelines.
  • Conduct Kaizen event to better organize shipping and receiving areas thus improving efficiency and reducing errors.
  • Develop and implement strategic operation and business plans
  • Knowledge International Air & Sea, Domestic inland freight forwarding.
  • Knowledge FMC, TSA, DOT, and CTPAT regulations,
  • Ability to establish and enhance operational functions
  • Responsible for implementation and administration of company policies, budgets and developing long range goals and objectives. Identifies and implements best practices
  • Reviews analyses of activities, costs, operations, labor plan/labor cost and forecast data to determine department progress toward stated goals and objectives.
  • Establishes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling, and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
  • Executes, monitors, and enhances safety and security procedures to ensure a safe work environment and reduce all safety related occurrences. Supports Kaizen and Quality initiatives.
  • Interfaces with customer to ensure satisfaction of customer requirements and requests.
  • Participates in the implementation of new customers to include but not limited to; assisting in determining rate schedule, planning required manpower to meet Service Level agreements, writing, and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures, etc.
  • Provides consultation and analyses for contract negotiations.
  • Conducts studies in areas of packaging, warehousing, and loading of commodities.


  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university highly preferred.
  • 7-10 years related experience at management level, in logistics; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
