International Logistics Specialists – Air Logistics – West Berkshire – UK

Job Overview

We have new opportunities for International Logistics Specialists to join our specialist Air Logistics team, Sterling, a part of the Kuehne+Group focused on supporting our aerospace and air transportation customers. It’s our job to ensure that the critical parts that keep our customers flying are delivered with speed and reliability and we are looking for people like you, people who deliver customer excellence day after day. This role will be working a 4 on 4 off with shift pattern and within our 365 Operational Care Centre.

Your Role

As an International Logistics Specialist – Air Logistics you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our service to customers by ensuring that all procedures and systems process are followed correctly. You’ll be working with customers to understand what they need, including establishing routing, classifying the service type and agreeing deadlines.

Your Responsibilities

  • Maintains and enhances customer services by ensuring procedures are followed and systems used correctly and by following any new systems procedures within the department.
  • Building relationships with customers, striving always for customer excellence and ensuring calls are answered promptly and efficiently.
  • Taking job orders from customers that include routing, classifying of service type, establishing a deadline and providing clients with continuous updates and frequent communication (which includes flight and customs delays, proof of deliveries, charges, resolutions, etc).This includes ensuring pre-alerts are sent to overseas office, service partners and customers.
  • Providing customers with the best option, ensuring they are aware of special services on offer.
  • Provide quotes to customers and monitor shipments in progress and check Master Air waybill (MAWB) for high costs and to quote the customer
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Codes of Practice (COP) and comply with company policies and procedures.

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Experience in the logistics industry, ideally in Air Logistics, Aviation or Cargo. If you have experience of delivering Time Critical shipments that would be ideal.
  • Sound knowledge of international and domestic airline routings, geography and time zones.
  • Demonstrate efficient risk assessment, problem analysis and problem resolution capabilities.
  • Understand the concept of customer care, and how to identify the root cause of problems and communicate issues with tack and diplomacy; you’ll need superb customer excellence skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal communication skills are important.
  • Great organisational and prioritisation skills and proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint & Word)
  • Able to work on a flexible schedule to a 24/7/365 operations working a 4 days on, 4 days off shift pattern.
