Import Coordinator – Manhattan – USA

High-end contemporary womenswear brand looking to fill a new role within the Wholesale Logistics team. The Import Coordinator will be the primary point of contact on all inbound/import shipments of finished goods and will be responsible for tracking shipments from point of origin to receipt at our warehouses in the US and Europe.

Essential Duties

  • Daily communication with Production, factories, warehouses, customs broker and freight forwarder
  • Request and analyze freight quotes from carriers and freight forwarder for best cost / transit time
  • Review all import documents for accuracy and ensure correct documents are provided in timely manner
  • Utilize knowledge of customs clearance procedures and requirements
  • Create ASNs in ERP system, transmit to warehouse and notify Receiving teams
  • Follow up with Trucking and Receiving to minimize and resolve delays
  • Review and approve transportation and customs broker invoices for payment
  • Log freight and duty rates in costing sheets
  • Create and maintain receiving reports
  • Provide updates in weekly meeting with Production/Sales/Planning teams

Qualifications

  • Ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience working with imports/receiving
  • Must have strong understanding of HTS codes, CI/PL/COO/EUR1 requirements
  • Must have excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Strong excel skills required
  • Experience with RLM ERP is a plus
