Are you an innovative and entrepreneurial leader?  Do you have experience impacting technology in an international cross-dock facility?  As the General Manager for Global Operations – Warehousing you will be focused on the technology, product strategy, and overall performance C.H. Robinson’s international cross-docks globally. Your main responsibilities will be centered on delivering value aligned to the business by iteratively improving International Cross-Dock technological usage, configurability, speed, ease-of use, & affordability. Building and executing C.H. Robinson’s globalInternational Cross-Dock product strategy inclusive of in-sourced & outsourced operational outcomes will also be a priority as well as building and leading high-performing operational teams.  If you enjoy understanding, sharing, and solving complex business challenges with rapidly emerging technologies and approaches this role may be for you!



  • Understanding and documenting stakeholder needs, key business outcomes, & technological acceptance criteria at the feature level and higher.
  • Building, negotiating, maintaining, & communicating program road maps
  • Communicating to stakeholders on program status and plan as well as impact to key business outcomes
  • Connecting Engineering Product Managers to target users for story grooming, prototyping, & UAT.
  • Assembling and leading a group of stakeholder and user representatives to help inform technological development & drive business adoption
  • Assembling and leading steering committee review of investment progress and proposed plan
  • Presenting the business case for investment and resource allocation
  • Resolving or escalating progress impediments
  • Ensuring investments are well placed and sustainable returns or risk mitigation realized


  • Build, negotiate, maintain, communicate, & execute C.H. Robinson’s global International Cross-Dock product strategy including but not limited to:
    • Vendor strategy, vetting, performance, & relationship development
    • Quality
      • Service level management
      • Process documentation, training, & auditing
    • Compliance management
    • Technological development & integration
    • Growth enablement & flexibility
    • Efficiency & volume cost
    • Investment & capital expenditure proposals with trade-offs
  • Responsible for U.S. in-sourced and out-sourced operations.


  • Coach & support the Chicago Warehouse GM as relates to the International portion of his/her role having direct accountability for the team’s outcomes.  Including:
    • Service reliability relative to agreed network and gateway service levels
    • Optimization of capital, talent, & technology to enable volume growth & agility while minimizing waste
    • Tactical and strategic talent development & succession planning
    • Compliance to internal and external regulations and policies
    • Proactive and transparent communication with stakeholders on operational health & risks

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in global forwarding and/or international cross dock
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience leading teams
  • Ability to travel up to 15% (domestically and internationally)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Proficient at building and successfully executing Business and/or Program strategy, proposals, planning, and outcomes
  • Ability to quickly learn software development & architecture basics
  • Skilled in illustrating technical business processes and systems
  • Experience managing a P&L
