Provide accurate, timely, and proactive customer service to the Company’s customers as well as effectively communicating and coordinating with internal departments and third parties to meet customer requirements
Process simple and complex freight forwarding services, while following all government regulations and abiding by company policies and procedures -Shipment/order management -Obtain service quotations and optimize costs -Timely and accurate scheduling of hazardous and non-hazardous ocean and/or air bookings -Coordinate customs brokerage -Ensure the complete and timely transfer of cargo (pick up, delivery, etc.) -Prepare, assemble, and process shipment documentation and billing through the Company’s designated system(s) and obtain any required shipment release(s) -Monitor and control services
Process shipments in line with Company standards with regard to accuracy and expected productivity as measured by Key Performance Indicators
Identify other transactions and tasks that may be required to meet the needs of the customer
Maintains thorough understanding of regulations and laws affecting international transport of cargo
Cross train on other customer accounts and assist with training new / transferred employees

Skills & Competencies
Thorough understanding of the principles and methods for moving goods by air, sea, train, or land
Thorough understanding of clerical needs, policies, and processes involved in freight transport
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent spatial and problem-solving skills as needed to combine and plan shipments
Basic and complex math knowledge
Effective negotiation skills
Ability to identify process improvements and escalate suggestions to management
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
Proficiency with Microsoft tools (Excel, Outlook, and Word)
CargoWise One knowledge a plus
Accurate typing ability
Ability to learn new applications quickly
Physical and/or Mental Requirements / Working Conditions
Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time.
Work is generally performed within an office environment with standard lighting, temperature, and office equipment available.
