Director of Finance – Long Beach – USA

Responsibilities

Financial Strategy and Planning
  • Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies aligned with the company’s overall objectives.
  • Provide leadership in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to support strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor financial performance against established benchmarks and KPIs.
Financial Reporting and Analysis
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Conduct thorough financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Present financial reports and insights to executive leadership and the board of directors.
Cash Flow Management
  • Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds for day-to-day operations.
  • Monitor cash flow and liquidity levels, making recommendations for optimizing working capital.
Risk Management and Compliance
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks through effective risk management practices.
Team Leadership and Development
  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide guidance and support for professional development and performance management.
Financial Systems and Processes
  • Evaluate, optimize, and implement financial systems and tools to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data through rigorous controls and validation mechanisms.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • CPA or relevant professional certification is highly desirable.
  • 7-10 years of experience in senior finance roles, preferably in the logistics or related industry.
  • Proven track record of strategic financial planning and execution.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, analysis, and reporting.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficient in financial software and systems (e.g., ERP systems, Excel, etc.).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
