As the Director, Airfreight Gateways – US you will be responsible for establishing and executing the operational and procurement strategies for the US Air Export gateway operations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensures execution of AFR procurement strategy in country
  • Manages and drives performance of AFR Capacity Management teams
  • Coordinates forecast of supply and demand in country
  • Ensures procurement and negotiates key contracts (schedules, rates)
  • Is responsible for optimizing network procurement and consolidation opportunities
  • Contributes to implementation of BD opportunities in country
  • Coordinates execution of global procurement strategy for AFR at country level (end-to-end)
  • Ensures route planning and capacity allocation in country
  • Performs negotiation of key contracts with carriers
  • Coordinates control of balance between supply and demand at country level, identifying and implementing improvement possibilities
  • Ensures good relationships on the day-to-day work with carriers at country level
  • Sets internal rates for local procured activities and checks the internal rates set centrally for the own country
Skills / Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related discipline or work equivalent of 10 years minimum
  • Expert knowledge of Airfreight forwarding & Gateway Operations
  • Available for up to 50% domestic travel
  • Proven track record in people management (leadership, motivation and people skills)
  • Demonstrates strong communication and influencing capabilities
  • Demonstrated record of achievement in achieving targets and objectives
  • Critical thinking, creativity, and innovation in developing new concepts, theories, and products to address the most complex and strategic issues facing gateway operations and procurement
  • Strong ability to negotiate the highest level on behalf of the company
  • Strong project and time management skills, including ability to direct multiple projects simultaneously
  • Exceptional problem solving & strong analytical skills
