BRIEF OVERVIEW

DSV is looking to recruit a Customs Import Manager based in Harwich. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company committed to providing quality, innovative value and logistics services. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a busy customs team.

We are looking for a person who can add extra quality to our already highly skilled team and be able come up with alternative solutions to challenges and problems whilst at the same time working under pressure.

The Import Customs Manager will be expected to lead the Customs team to deliver department objectives and KPIs. A self-starter who is able to convey and implement their own vision to drive the team. Be able to create a culture that focuses on employees’ strengths through training and development. Have full responsibility for UK Customs processes and declarations.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

An excellent understanding of HMRC regulations for international Exports, Imports and Transit

Proven track record and experience in International Operations essential

Lead inspire and develop a dynamic Customs team

Ensure all Customs declarations and processes are completed within a timely manner to avoid delays to international parcels for both exports and imports

Ensure Customs declarations are compliant with HMRC regulations

Deliver key Customs KPI’s on time as required

Lead and assist with the implementation of new operational processes in-line with the development of International services and products

Provide recommendations and implement Customs processes and simplifications

Liaise with and maintain an excellent working relationship with HMRC and Border Force on Customs matters and enquiries

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Previous experience in this role.

Relevant qualifications in relation to the position

Computer literate

Excellent communication skills

Must be competent in Word, Excel, PowerPointFlexible to working hours and travel
