We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Customs Clearance/Declarant to join our team in Dublin. As a Customs Clearance/Declarant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and compliant movement of goods through customs processes. Your primary focus will be on road and ocean freight shipments, and you will be responsible for managing customs clearance activities.
Responsibilities
Customs Clearance: Prepare and submit customs documentation, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and procedures.
Handle customs entries for road and ocean freight shipments accurately and efficiently.
Documentation Management: Manage all required customs documentation, including import/export declarations, duty calculations, and other relevant paperwork.
Ensure that all documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted within specified deadlines.
Compliance: Stay up-to-date with customs regulations, tariff codes, and trade agreements to ensure compliance.
Verify that all necessary permits, licenses, and certificates are in place for smooth customs clearance.
Communication and Coordination: Liaise with customs authorities, shipping agents, and other relevant stakeholders to resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise during the clearance process.
Collaborate with internal teams to obtain necessary information and documentation for customs purposes.
Problem-solving: Proactively identify and resolve customs-related issues, such as customs holds, inspections, or duty disputes.
Seek solutions to minimize delays and facilitate the timely delivery of goods.
Record-keeping: Maintain accurate records of all customs transactions and documentation.
Ensure that records are organized, easily accessible, and compliant with record-keeping requirements.
Requirements
Approximately 2 years of experience in customs clearance and declaration, preferably in the road and ocean freight sectors.
In-depth knowledge of customs regulations, procedures, and documentation requirements.
Familiarity with customs software systems and tools for electronic submission of customs documentation.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling customs paperwork and calculations.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for seamless coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Good problem-solving skills with the ability to handle customs-related issues efficiently.
Proficiency in relevant computer applications and software for customs clearance.
Salary
€34,000 – €35,000 p/a
