Business Development Manager

Our group is seeking an experienced (>3 years) business development manager.  We are looking for candidates who are new-business hunters.  This role is limited to local candidates and requires a background in freight forwarding.

Your Mission & Main Responsibilities

  • Actively prospect, pursue and qualify potential clients; implement successful selling strategies/techniques
  • Manage new and established account development for continued revenue and growth profit
  • Dedicated sales performance against assigned targets
  • Define and propose specific approaches to meet and exceed customer needs
  • Prepare and propose logistics solutions to clients
  • Coordinate customer requirements with appropriate solutions
  • Build and maintain exceptional customer relations to solve their problems
  • Follow up on customer communications in a timely and professional manner
  • Prepare and attend client meetings
  • Cold calling
  • Respond to incoming inquiries
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business or similar a plus
  • Minimum 3-years sales experience in International Freight Forwarding / Logistic Services
  • Proven track record of success in business development
  • Extensive experience with successful prospect negotiations
  • Solid experience of change management and cultivating new and better ways for the organization to be successful

Additional Information

  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent planning and organization skills; ability to multitask and be a self-starter
  • Computer skills and proficient in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
  • Trade Lane management experience a plus
  • Automotive experience a plus
  • Cargowise experience and Salesforce experience a plus
