Responsible for managing, monitoring and developing the airfreight team of operational staff, ensuring the staff are well trained and motivated to provide market-leading levels of service for our customers and partners. Provide product development, improve business processes, maximising profitability and
enhance customer satisfaction. Question and challenge current ways of working and encourage innovation.
Develop and implement strategies for increased airfreight performance
Develop a strong airfreight product and build competency throughout the group
Identify business opportunities and improve overall market share
Develop long term partnerships with suppliers and customers
Continued improvement to procedures, controls and KPI’s
Have responsibility for branch budget and P&L
Manage, develop and mentor the airfreight operational team
Develop a strong relationship with our overseas partners
Ensure AEO compliance
Provide the MD with monthly performance / traffic analysis reports
Provide active contributions to the corporate objectives
Key KPI’S: Measure of Success
Increased profitability of the airfreight branch through an expanded customer base and efficient management
Increased staff productivity and product/service knowledge (through appropriate training)
Successfully pass AEO audits
Corporate objectives achieved or exceeded
General – Comply with the Company Health & Safety policy and procedures and any other tasks deemed necessary by the BOD
Any other duties that the company may reasonably ask you to perform which are within your expertise and skill sets.
Basic knowledge of UK customs procedures
4 – 5 years’ experience in a similar role
Excellent communication verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Positive, “can do” attitude
Experienced with Microsoft Office packages e.g. word, excel, PowerPoint
Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise.
Attention to detail
Strong team ethic and share knowledge
