Air Freights & Reds Co-ordinator – Heathrow – UK

Job Overview

  • Salary offer ▵ Up to £30,000

Due to increased global growth, we are seeking for a Air Freights and Reds Co-ordinator to be part of our Air Freight team with our London Heathrow Office based in Slough.
You will co-ordinate Air freight activities and REDS activities.
Office Hours: Monday – Friday 08.30 hours – 17.30 hours – one-hour unpaid lunch

Salary: Up to £30,000

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure all air import/export jobs are completed correctly and in a timely manner
  • Ensure all customs declaration tasks are completed correctly and in a timely manner
  • Report immediately to the line manager any amendments to customs declarations
  • Run spot checks on customs entry 6 every other week ad-hoc and hand over to line manager once completed weekly
  • Ensure the operational system is always used and correctly
  • Assist other department as and when required by the company
  • Provide support and holiday coverage for the local staff when required
  • Maintain regular communications with the network and sales team
  • Report any sales lead (new clients /handover shipment/etc.…) to the line manager for distribution to the sales team
    Create SOP for any regular business
  • Provide quotation to the sales team / clients and network within 2 hours of receipt and report to Line manager
  • Ensure one format for quotations and a recording system is in place for all quotes for Air
  • Look and propose new efficiencies in customer workflow and discuss with salesperson if allocated or line manager
  • Coordinate all REDS activities for Alpi UK and maintain auditing of the date processed
  • Liaise with HMRC and maintenance of customs procedures
  • Ensure all reports are completed as per provided deadline
  • Ensure the SOP’s are followed completely
  • Always maintain high standards of personal quality, Health & Safety and professionalism and actively promote all company policies and procedures
  • Always represent the company in the best possible light
  • Handle any mode of transport if required to do so and instructed by the line manager
  • Ensure that all invoicing/job costing is done within 48 hours of departure or arrival of the goods,
    unless otherwise agreed with the line manager, weekly report as agreed
  • Look and propose new efficiencies in customer work flow
  • Ensure that all goods under Alpi’s deferment account are approved for deliver with accounts or line manager or an agreement must be place on SOP or quotes
  • Passing invoices from suppliers and providers within 48 hours from receipt
  • Ensure Insurance is charged correctly
  • Ensure insurance claims are given to the claims department immediately
  • Propose and report to Line Manager; strategies related to the Air products

Skills, Experience and Competencies

  • Proven experience, gained ideally within the Freight Forwarding sector
  • Knowledge and experience of Import/Export multimodal business
  • Knowledge/skills required for Air Freight sales and products
  • Demonstrate quality communication skills along with good presentation skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft packages especially Ms Excel and general PC knowledge
  • Good understanding of logistics processes and procedures
  • Must be able to prioritise and organise own workload with attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be flexible with their working hours.
